The media finally picked up on the story of Mark Marchiafava.  It took them long enough!  I wrote about this travesty weeks ago!

“All of this could have been avoided,” Marchiafava said. “I kept telling them: ‘Don’t arrest me.’”

After
his arrest, Marchiafava said, Police Chief Bill Landry told other
people: “‘We have a policy of arresting anybody carrying any type of
firearm without a concealed-gun permit.’

 “It’s
not the people who are openly carrying weapons that you need to worry
about,” Marchiafava said. “It’s the people who carry concealed guns
that you need to be concerned about.”

Now, I’ve known Mark for a couple of years now, and I can’t imagine he meant what his quote implies.  After all, I carry concealed all the time.  I’m a law abiding citizen, and it’s no one’s business how I choose to exercise my Second Amendment right.  Interesting…

In any case, more than a month after I had wrapped up my coverage of Mark’s case, the media finally picks up the story.  *sigh*  Better late than never, I guess.
