OK, you know… I’m used to politician doublespeak. I’ve seen some pretty blatant flip-floppery from power-hungry assholes seeking to wield power over the nation, but the latest load of bovine excrement coming from the McCain camp has me wanting to shove that man’s face into a cheese grater!
You’ve seen me rail against bailouts this week and last. It’s been a pet peeve of mine, because I don’t see how a government using money that doesn’t belong to it to rewar failure is in any way moral or right. McCain can’t seem to make up his mind about bailouts. First, he hates them. Then he says they’re odious, horrid things, but we MUST MUST MUST bail out Fannie and Freddie. Then he says we must bail out the auto industry, even though he was against bailouts before he discovered Michigan and Ohio were battleground states.
Last week he railed against the federal rescue of Fannie and Freddie, but claimed it was a necessary move.
Republican White House hopeful John McCain slammed the federal rescue of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as “outrageous” but necessary, as Democrat Barack Obama Tuesday expressed disquiet over hefty severance deals for the firms’ ousted chiefs. This week, John McCain said the Federal Reserve needs to stop bailing out failed financial institutions.
“The bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is another outrageous, but sadly necessary, step for these two institutions,” McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin wrote in an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal.
“Given the long-term mismanagement and flawed structure of these two companies, this was the only short-term alternative for ensuring that hard-working Americans have access to affordable mortgages during this difficult economic period.”
OK, asshat. Stop playing your little political games. Bailouts are either good or they’re not. They’re either necessary or they’re not necessary. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t advocate bailouts for the auto industry while slamming bailouts in the finance sector and vice versa.
I guess it’s all a matter of political expediency. Yeah, just what I want as President – an economically ignorant douchebag with no solid understanding or opinion on anything, who is willing to bend, twist and flex like a whore in a Manila brothel, just to get a vote.
Screw you, McCain. You ain’t getting mine!
