As far as my vote goes, that didn’t hurt him. He lost me at McCain/Feingold.

Hmmmmmm… well there is a large part of me that has no problem with a crim check being required to purchase certain firearms. I know, I know… but Troy most criminals dont buy thier guns at gunshows they buy them off the street, and this would only impact the already law-abiding citizens and place a undue burden on the gun show market. Well I have known (personally) of criminals that did in fact go “Shopping” at gun shows because they knew there wasnt any impediment. But with that said…. what would the criteria be for “disapproval” etc. etc. And would it be appropiate for only handguns and more “compact” weapons or would it extend to larger firearms. Dont know. Again ….not necessarily against this thought, but not “for” it either. Have a GREAT WEEKEND NIKI!

Troy, you may have personally known criminals who went shopping at gun shows, but such occurrences are rare. Bureau of Justice Statistics studies show less than 2 percent of criminals obtained their guns at gun shows or flea markets. Why is that? Because the vast majority of vendors who sell guns at gun shows have FFLs and already have a requirement to run background checks. Those who don’t generally come to sell one or two things out of their private collections. Such vendors are rare. Why is it, do you think, that more criminals don’t go shopping at gun shows if they’re such supermarkets for illicit activity? No… what that bastard was trying to do is gain government control of private sales.
