The beauty in America is not just the resplendence of the mountains and the beauty of the monuments. It is the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this nation. I’ve been to a lot of countries and lived in several of them, and this is the only nation I know where we can speak with impunity, burn the national symbol without legal repercussions (although, shitsacks like Fred Phelps and his demented offspring burning a flag or protesting our troops, could face social repercussions that are quite a bit more fun), and espouse ideas that are so reprehensible that any human being with half a brain would shun them.
That’s why when I see Louis Farrakhan espousing his particular brand of hate in front of thousands, I categorically oppose gagging him via government force. I do, however, wonder how an odious, abhorrent morsel of anti-Semitic shit like Farrakhan still has an audience.

Yeah… um… let’s get something straight. Michael Jackson was a talented dancer and musician. He was also a weirdo who behaved inappropriately with small children – whether he actually sexually abused them or not. He was creepy.
But that doesn’t even matter to Farrakhan, who has a long history of blaming Jews for everything from slavery in America to the demise of Knight Rider on TV. Anything he can blame on those eeeeeeevil Joooooos.
The fact that he’s a racist prick is no surprise. The fact that his particular brand of hate still gets media coverage and several thousand idiots still listen raptly as he spews his venom is irritating. It says something about a large portion of our society that this asshole hasn’t been driven out in shame and humiliation. He’s no better than the Stormfront/KKK assholes who go around preaching the supremacy of their race while castigating anyone who is different. They’re two sides of the same, twisted coin.
And yet, the while supremacist douchebags enjoy no credibility and no media coverage, the mediots still hang on to every idiocy Farrakhan spews.
Here’s hoping that the prostate cancer returns and eats away at his ass until there’s nothing left. Maybe then, he’ll stop speaking out of it.

In short, they need a scapegoat to hate. And Farrakhan is there to provide them one.American whites who feel similarly are largely inhibited against indulging such emotions. The inhibitions are in part legal, in part social, and in part a desire to think well of ourselves under the lens of traditional American norms of self-reliance and personal strength. Some of us might want to vent against a reified enemy, but we don’t want the appearance of weakness or the odium that goes with it. American blacks, by contrast, are pre-indemnified against any consequences of such displays.And for saying such things, I am frequently denounced as a racist. Well, you know Nicki those evil Jews are the cause of all our problems, worldwide. They’re all rich and they own the system. Ohhhh, when I think of the fact that the first people I ever loved outside my immediate family were evil Jews it makes me so ashamed. Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz were diablolical in their method of indoctrinating me to acceptance of them as ordinary people. They were rich evil Jews, very very old, and every day they would have me in for raisin bread, they were clever too, that’s why they lived in the unit right next to us in the projects. Hiding their wealth and nefarious plans behind love for a little skinny kid from next door who never had enough to eat. How callous and cunning! Being nice and loving to a goy child because he needed someone. Oh, the betrayal of humanity!To this day almost 60 years later, I still miss them and wish I didn’t tear up when I think of them. They were two of the kindest people I ever met, at a time in my life when kindness very likely made the difference between my living a mostly good life and being just another goddamned thug. I was small and young, but there was plenty of opportunity to go the other way. The Schwartz’s made me want to be like them.
