I don’t know if you all heard this, but apparently the United States is no longer fighting a War on Terrorism. I’m not sure what we’re fighting, but if we’re no longer fighting the GWOT, did someone win? Did someone surrender? Was there a truce? We’d been fighting the War on Terror for the past 8 years, but now it’s over, and we’re not sure what the hell we’re doing.
And if we’re not fighting a War on Terrorism, why, exactly are more of our guys dying in Afghanistan than ever?
The US is no longer engaged in a “war on terrorism”; neither is it fighting
“jihadists” nor locked in a “global war” as the Obama administration’s top
homeland security and counterterrorism official has called the terms coined by
the Bush administration as unacceptable.
It is now solely a “war with
Al Qaeda” and its violent extremist allies, John Brennan, who heads the White
House homeland security office, said during a speech on Thursday at the Center
for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.
So if we’re not fighting jihadists, what are we doing? Are we negotiating with them? Are we now sitting down at the diplomatic table with the Taliban or al Qaida?
Our men and women are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, and yet, our “brave” leadership is now fomenting a “semantic shift” that cheapens and invalidates every single death of an American servicemember at the hands of a jihadi terrorist.
I’m watching Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney on Fox News this morning, and I’m amazed and gratified that someone finally just came out and said it: WE ARE FIGHTING A WAR ON RADICAL ISLAM. Period. This is a military man telling you so. We are fighting a war on radical Islam. “Let’s get the political correctness out of the fight,” he says, and he’s dead on.
And if there are Muslims out there who condemn the actions of al Qaida and the Taliban, let them come forward. More of their people are getting killed in the bombings and attacks than any others. Let these nations stand up and raise their voices in condemnation! Let these nations commit their armies to fighting these radical bastards.
Enough is enough!

Nicki, Nicki, Nicki…tsk, tsk! Don’t you know that in the new unicorny world of hopey-changitude there is no such THING as terrorists, or terrorism. Instead we deploy our troops on “Overseas Contigency Operations” in response to “Man-caused disasters”. Wait…I need to clarify….there ARE terrorists inthe world, according to the Arizona She-cow….and they ALWAYS come from one of these demographic groups: Veterans of the US military, gun-clinging 2nd ammendment freaks, religious nutcases (of the Christian pursuasion) or anti-abortion troglodytes. I’m sure the list will soon be ammended to include the brainless minions of the Big Pharm/Big Med cabal who masquerade as “ordinary citizens” in these cleverly disquised “grassroots” protests….and any of the remaining eco-terrorists who refuse to accept the Gospel of Gore. I understand the reasoning of not wanting to say that that the United States is fighting a war on “terror” or “terrorism” since it’s not really possible to fight a war on an idea itself. We are definitely fighting a war on terrorists, specifically in Afghanistan, Iraq, and many other places. However, putting your head in the sand and thinking that there are not rotten bastards out there who want to kill Americans for simply being American is dangerously ignorant.If I’m wrong and it is possible to fight a war against an amorphous idea I suggest the Global War on Ignorant Stupidity (especially on the highway).

To Mark: You hit the nail on the head. And he dares call us racists. Guess some of his minions are probably reading all this and will consider it “fishy”. He can suggest a different word or phrase, but a terrorist is a terrorist and wants us dead. He doesn’t have to worry. He is one of them. Wait until he finds out they really do even kill their own.
