Remember when Joe Wilson got all rude during a session of Congress and screamed out “YOU LIE!” while the Magic Marxist was making his claim that illegal immigrants will not have access to taxpayer funded health care? I still maintain Wilson was rude, and he did apologize.
But was he wrong?
Fearful that they’re losing ground on immigration and health care, a
group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health
care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal
immigrants some access, The Washington Times reported on Monday.The Democrats, trying to stiffen their
party’s spines on the contentious issue, say it’s unfair to bar illegal
immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored
exchange. Legal immigrants, they say, regardless of how long they’ve
been in the United States, should be able to get government-subsidized
health care if they meet the other eligibility requirements.
As a LEGAL immigrant to this country, I find this whole thing offensive. Forgive me if I don’t support my money going to fund a service for people whose very first act upon entering this country is to take a large, steamy dump on this country’s laws!
And yes, health care is a service. It’s not a right, like some will claim. It’s a service that requires someone to provide it – someone who has likely worked his or her ass off in college and medical school, pays tons of money in malpractice insurance and deserves to get paid for their expertise. And because it’s a service that requires payment, to force the rest of us to foot the bill for some shitbag who snuck in here illegally, is morally abhorrent.
Oh, and by the way – what the hell do you think will happen if you start offering goods and services free to illegals at American taxpayers’ expense? Do you honestly think that will make them LESS likely to do everything in their power to haul their unwashed asses across our border? Let me give you guys a clue: if you offer them free shit, they will come.
Ergo, offering them some of the best health care services in the world free of charge will only give them more incentive to violate our immigration laws.

The greatest truism in life is that the more you subsidize something;the more of it you will get.When President Johnson started his “Great Society” programs in 1964, we had a “poor” population of around 8 to 10%…now, 45 years later,with almost a trillion dollars in federal funds having been spent to “help the poor”; we have a “poor” population of almost 18%. Poor is a relative term…most of our “poor” have color TV’s, at least one automobile, air conditioning and are medically classed as”overweight”…SOME poor!I too, am a LEGAL immigrant,and also like you, served in our Army so as to in some small measure repay this nation for it’s generosity and opportunities it has afforded me, (BTW, THANK YOU for your service)and find it extremely appalling that our government is so lax with using MY taxcontributions on those that start their life in the U.S. by committing a crime.
