You know, I was never a big fan of Dubya, but seriously – how about giving the Bush Derangement Syndrome a slight rest, folks?
Some Chicago officials say anti-American resentment likely played arole in Chicago’s Olympic bid dying in the first round Friday.
President Obama could not undo in one year the resentment againstAmerica that President Bush and others built up for years, they said.
“There must be” resentment against America, the Rev. Jesse Jacksonsaid, near the stage where he had hoped to give a victory speech inDaley Center Plaza. “The way we [refused to sign] the Kyoto Treaty, wemisled the world into Iraq. The world had a very bad taste in its mouthabout us. But there was such a turnaround after last November. Theworld now feels better about America and about Americans. That’s why Ithought the president’s going was the deal-maker.”
And since when is that hypocritical, philandering, anti-Semitic asshole in any way relevant?

Wait a minute. Wasn’t Chicago selected by the IOC as one of the four 2016 finalists while Bush was still in office? And why, if Obama wanted to remain true to his share-the-wealth, equality for all, America-bashing self, wasn’t Obama supporting Rio in the first place? After all, we’ve hosted the Olympics nine times. Prior to Rio’s selection, no South American city had been chosen to host the Games.Oh, well, at least we can stop with the Obama/Hitler comparisons. As a commenter over at Misha’s Rottweiler put it: At least Hitler got the Olympics to come to Berlin…
