Joe Wilson is rude to the Magic Marxist during a congressional session, apologies, apology is accepted, Pelosi Skeletor doesn’t think he was contrite enough, resolution to admonish Wilson passes 240-179.

Charlie Rangel, the head of the very committee that… oh… I dunno… writes taxes or something… allegedly failed to report $75,000 in taxable income, failed to report $3 million in business transactions, neglected to report the sale of a brownstone in Harlem and a pretty hefty bank account and allegedly undervalued his assets by nearly a million dollars.  Do the Democrats even consider removing him from his powerful post?  NAH!

House Republicans on Wednesday tried to pass a resolution to oust
Rangel from his chairmanship pending an Ethics Committee investigation
into a long and stinging list of alleged wrongdoing.  The measure
stemmed from a probe into Rangel’s alleged failure to pay his taxes and
disclose income on multiple properties — as much as $1.3 million. 

But House Democrats were
quick to strike down the measure by a vote of 243 to 156.  House Republicans refused to accept defeat of the resolution,
and asked for a second recorded vote following the first.  The reading of the resolution was interrupted several times,
and at one point was challenged by Democrats before being put to a vote.

Obviously Rangel’s numerous violations of the law and pending investigations are nothing compared to Wilson losing his shit on the congressional floor, apologizing for said loss of shit and having his apology accepted by the recipient of said lost shit.  I seem to remember the Democrats also rallying around Dollar Bill Jefferson before he finally got his ass found guilty.  The only transgression Democrats seem to consider serious enough to formally admonish one of their own for is being rude to the Magic Marxist.

Meanwhile, Congressional approval ratings dropping to levels equaling those of private injury attorneys, used car salesmen and tax collectors and Perez Hilton probably has nothing to do with the fact that they’re an unethical, immoral, corrupt, twisted, tyrannical, power-hungry, greedy bunch of boobs. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
