You guys know that I can get very mean and visceral on occasion. Some of the things that piss me off most are hypocrisy, lies, statism and tyranny and abuse of power. So when Phil Jones, the so-called “scientist” in the middle of the “climategate” email scandal announced (in what seems like a bout of a public cry for sympathy for his self-created plight), that he thought about killing himself after the backlash of hate and derision against him, my first reaction is “why didn’t you do it, asshole?”
The incident has taken a severe toll on his health. He has lost more than a stone in weight and disclosed he is on beta-blockers and using sleeping pills. He said the support of his family, and especially the love of his five-year-old granddaughter, had helped him to shake off suicidal thoughts: “I wanted to see her grow up.”
Waaah! So the bloody hell what! This guy intentionally tried to hide data that discredited his research – research that can cause irreparable damage to our way of life! If his and his team’s lies hadn’t been exposed, how many of us would be paying exorbitant taxes to cover petty tyrants’ attempts to impose draconian “environmentally friendly” regulations upon us? How many of us would be screwed by new laws that would drastically alter the way we live?
And guess what, folks! This festering hemorrhoid on the ass of humanity has absolutely no remorse about what he did! None! He doesn’t think he and his band of rabid enviromonkeys did anything wrong!
Jones has temporarily stood down as director of the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia. He fiercely defends the unit’s science — “I stand by it 100%” — but now accepts that he did not treat Freedom of Information (FoI) requests for the data as seriously as he should have done. Jones believes that the unit was maliciously targeted with multiple FoI requests by climate change sceptics determined to disrupt its work.
Repeated requests for information about a topic that could drastically alter the lives of billions of people are somehow “malicious,’ according to this asshole. The fact that people’s earnings (read: taxpayer money) sponsored his research somehow doesn’t prompt him to consider that he’s somehow accountable to those people. And the fact that his emails reveal intentional and malicious plans to conceal data and discredit scientific critics and negative peer reviews of his work doesn’t stop him from defending his fraud.
In emails that were hacked into and seized upon by global-warming sceptics before the Copenhagen climate summit in December, Jones appeared to call upon his colleagues to destroy scientific data rather than release it to people intent on discrediting their work monitoring climate change.
Jones, 57, said he was unprepared for the scandal: “I am just a scientist. I have no training in PR or dealing with crises.”
I submit to you, the reader, that Jones has no business calling himself a scientist. Real scientists have the integrity to face scrutiny of their work, and the open mind to admit that perhaps their research isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Real scientists don’t try to bury evidence contrary to their preconceived hypothesis. Real scientists don’t manipulate their data and selectively choose only supporters to peer review their work, while banding together with other, like-minded scientific fraudsters to shun unfavorable or critical reviews. That is exactly what Jones and his cohorts did.
Another glimpse into what the files and emails reveal was the report by Professor Deming. He wrote, “With publication of an article in Science (in 1995) I gained sufficient credibility in the community of scientists working on climate change. They thought I was one of them someone who would pervert science in the service of social and political causes. So one of them let his guard down. A major person working in the area of climate change and global warming sent me an astonishing email that said. “We must get rid of the Medieval Warm Period.” The person in question was Jonathan Overpeck and his even more revealing emails are part of those exposed by the hacker. It is now very clear that Deming’s charge was precise. They have perverted science in the service of social and political causes.
And now he has the unmitigated gall to try and garner some sympathy from the general public by dragging his granddaughter into the Phil Jones Pity Fest????
As far as I’m concerned, Phil Jones should have offed himself. He has no integrity and no honor. His lies affect the rights of billions of people to live as free human beings. He’s a coward who can’t face the consequences of his actions, refuses to take responsibility for his lies and is deathly scared of scrutiny, because he knows he’s a miserable liar and doesn’t want his lies exposed. In other words, suicide is appropriate as the coward’s way out.

Good rant! The guy is obviously a gigantic slimy wimp who doesn’t have the guts to even ‘fess up to what he did. And now he done it in public, and he is crying about it! Pussy.

Nicki, I’ve been lurking around here for a few days. Very honest passionate stuff you are putting out. This whole global warming thing is a pet peeve of mine. The most infuriating thing is that they ALMOST GOT AWAY WITH IT. If the climategate thing hadn’t popped when it did, who knows what would have been sent downrange from Copenhagen. Jones is a grant money whore, and a scientific poser, but I’m more concerned about the charlatans (Al Gore) who were using his bogus B.S. to propagate hysteria and line their own pockets. These big blizzards in the midwest a month ago, and now on the east coast are shadenfreude of the sweetest kind. Nobel prize my ass!

Bah, I’ve no sympathy whatsover for him. Like so many of his ilk, he’s playing the emotional blackmail game on a large scale.

Thanks, Stephen. Welcome. I seem to be getting a lot of new commenters here, and I’m grateful for you guys chiming in. Makes me think I’m not writing in an echo chamber!

He was never going to kill himself, he never even contemplated it. He would however kill his granddaughter he claims to love if that would save him. He has proven that by trying to make the world she will inherit inhabitable. And he did it for money.Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

should be uninhabitable.
