Rancid hemorrhoid on the ass of the legislature
That would be YOU, Steny Hoyer – House Majority Leader and vapid shitbag.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) rejected the idea of
continuing a congressional pay freeze until Congress can balance the
budget, saying that it would take “a long time” until the budget might
be balanced too long, he said, for Congress to go without a pay raise.
Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Hoyer explained
that Congress had already frozen its pay by rejecting a cost of living
increase. However, extending that freeze was too much for Hoyer to
support.
While the rest of the country suffers… Hoyer can’t even be bothered to give up his salary and perks.
The current salary (2010) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year.
House Leadership
Speaker of the House – $223,500
Majority Leader – $193,400
Minority Leader – $193,400
That doesn’t even include the free trips, the retirement perks, the health care benefits and other taxpayer-funded goodies.
And would you like to know what you get for the bargain price?
Unemployment is expected to average around 9.7 percent this year. Congress can’t get its spending under control. They have created a huge mess with a $1.4 TRILLION budget deficit – between 9 and 11 percent of GDP.
In the real world, any employee who can’t be bothered to be profitable for his boss, takes constant vacations and makes much more than he’s worth would be fired by now. But apparently, Congresscreep Hoyer can’t be held accountable to his boss – the American people – and can’t be possibly expected to hold off on giving himself and his worthless cohorts a raise, even though they’ve done a crappy job for the the boss.
What exactly is his worth?

Pay raises are hardly an issue to congress. The Center for Responsive Politics has found that 237 members (44%) of Congress are millionaires. California Republican Darrell Issa is the richest lawmaker with a net worth estimated at just over $250 million. At least seven lawmakers have net worths greater than $100 million.Congressional Wealth is actually down from last year.

Of course, it’s not the issue. They don’t need it. Most of these leeches are independently wealthy. So the question is, do they really think they merit a raise, even though they’ve driven the rest of the nation into economic dirt with their policies? Why are they not willing to freeze their pay indefinitely?

It’s not the money, it’s the sense of entitlement. After all, the congresscritters are special. And since they are SO special, they deserve perks of office. I mean, why should they use their own money when all this government money is available? They didn’t get wealthy by spending their own money.

I have an image of the crew knowing the ship is going down, and they are frantically grabbing all the life vests before the passengers wake up. Criminal is what it is

Tie congressional salaries to the median income of Americans + bonus for every tenth of an unemployment percentage point under 6% (say, $2500.00 per, so for 5.5% unemployment, that’s median income + $12,500. )I don’t see any reason these people, with all of their expenses paid for, ought to make any more. I hardly think we get more politician for more money.Salaries are ridiculous at this point. And what a pity if those who signed up to do this job for the money didn’t run for office again.
