He was either really lousy at his job, as proven by the fact that he left DHS, planted his fat ass in Congress and became a politician, or… well… no, that’s it.

REP. CARSON: Congressman Andre Carson… Indianapolis, Indiana seventh Congressional district–myself John Lewis and his chief of staff. It was unbelievable.

REPORTER2: Coming out of Cannon?

REP.CARSON: Yeah, I expected rocks to come. I mean… I’m walking with John Lewis who walked with MLK. It was bizarre, but he’s been there done that.

PICKET: You were scared of the crowd?

REP. CARSON:Me? No, I’m a former cop, but I became protective of Congressman Lewis, and a person said, ‘I’m being reminded of another time’ as we’re walking. It was like an old sage. For him to say that is (inaudible)been there done that. A young 35 year old like myself, I’m being protective of the older sage along with this chief of staff. We kept walking. The walk usually takes a couple of minutes. It felt like ten minutes.

PICKET: Do you think the people outside are generally dangerous or no?

REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely. I worked in homeland security. I’m from intelligence, and I’ll tell you, one of the largest threats to our internal security…I mean terrorism has an Islamic face, but it really comes from racial supremacist groups. (inaudible) Its the kind of thing we keep a threat assessment on record [for].

PICKET: From groups like this?

REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely.

A threat assessment.  Really?  On people like this?

And these guys certainly look dangerous!

And she certainly needs to be watched!

And this little old lady?  Yeah, potential car bomber.  I can tell.

The only people who keep threat assessments against people such as this are the ones who DON’T want threat assessments on people such as this.

People like Andre Carson, who whip out the terrorism card every time We the People have the temerity to protest his Marxist policies and those of his Teh One™, but simper self-righteously any time the intelligence community actually targets real potential threats.

Revelations that the Department of Homeland Security gathered, held and distributed intelligence information on the Nation of Islam drew condemnation from analysts and civil liberties advocates and left two Black congressmen expressing concern about whether the operation was proper.

[...]

Ron Daniels, president of the Institute of the Black World 21st Century, called the investigation reminiscent of Cointelpro.  It’s suspicious and those are civil liberties violations using the Patriot Acts and Homeland Security, he said. We have to be very vigilant when looking at domestic surveillance and investigations, said the longtime educator and activist.

[...]

Dr. Daniels also condemned the operations as religious profiling of the Nation of Islam given its broad range of contacts and engagement with Muslim leaders, the Muslim world and others internationally.

Unfortunately in the eyes of the intelligence agencies these relationships were a concern, he said.

Muslim groups or organizations should not be targeted because of their religion, which is a violation of constitutional protections, Dr.Daniels said. No group should be subjected to a day of surveillance without a legitimate reason, he said.

That’s right people, live and learn!  Groups that oppose the expansion of government at peaceful rallies are potential terrorists who should be included in a threat assessment, while groups that use their religion to kill innocent people must not be profiled.  This is the world according to Ron Daniels and Andre Carson.

“As a former law enforcement professional, it is unfortunate that the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have deepened the relationship gap by fostering mistrust and suspicion,” Rep. Andre Carson (D-Ind.) said in a statement in response to The Final Call.  “This practice is unacceptable to any religious organization, including the Muslim faith.Instead of knocking down bridges, they should be focused on building them by strengthening relationships and making our communities safer and better.”

[...]

“Law enforcement can certainly be concerned about organizations that may wish to do violence, to commit illegal acts, whether violent or not. Their role is to investigate those kinds of circumstances. But where their knee-jerk reaction is simply to investigate based upon ideology, they’re setting themselves up to miss important information that could actually help them stop other violent situations that they are missing, simply because they’re paying attention to ideology, and not propensity to violence,” he said.

Does anyone else see the ludicrous hypocrisy of Carson’s claim? When it comes to targeting those who keep contact with religious leaders outside the United States many of whose followers are dedicated to killing innocent Americans, and have tried to do so numerous times, any attempt to focus attention as a potential threat is considered “knee-jerk.”  But yet, including people who have not been known to engage in any kind of violence and whose protests are generally peaceful, but who happen to oppose the policies of those currently in power is perfectly acceptable.

Worse yet, Carson whips out the law enforcement and “intelligence” creds to justify what is obviously a biased view of the threats we face.

There’s a reason for the mistrust!  Several, actually.

Faizal Shahzad and Anwar al-Awlaki

Nidal Hasan

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab

And dozens of others

Jose Padilla, Richard Reid, the Lackawanna Six, Lyman Farris, The Virginia 11, Dhiren Barot, James Elshafay and Shahawar Matin Siraj, Umer Hayat and Hamid Hayat, Levar Haley Washington, Gregory VernonPatterson, Hammad Riaz Samana, and Kevin James, Mohammad Zaki Amawi, Marwan Othman El-Hindi, Zand Wassim Mazloum, Syed Haris Ahmed and Ehsanul Islam Sadequee, the Fort Dix assholes…

And guess what, you blibbering assbag!  The vast majority of attempted attacks, were, in fact, related to Islam!

How many old ladies at Tea Parties have plotted against the United States?

Intelligence professionals are taught to recognize their own biases and encouraged to leave them at the door when doing assessments.

In the case of Andre Carson, the bias is quite clear: he’s so focused on his own victim mentality as an African American, he sees RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM around every corner, and is willing to whip out the authoritarian Terrorism Threat Card™ in order to silence those he perceives as racist (read: anyone who disagrees with his statist agenda).  But in the meantime, that same bias in favor of anything and anyone associated with the African American culture, is allowing him to calmly assert the need to stop knee-jerking about the Islamist threat and pointedly ignore that it is, for the most part, the fundamentalist Islamic fucktards who have repeatedly attacked the United States in the last decade, and continue to attempt to do so!

No wonder he left the intel field for politics! He’d be crucified in any self-respecting agency (that’s not run by Janet Napolitano), but actually has an audience for his biased tripe in Congress!
