Yeah, yeah.  I know. I haven’t written in forever.  Those of you who know me know that my job comes first – before blogging, but after kids, dog, cats and hedgehog.  I’ve been busy.  And angry.  Too angry, perhaps, to write anything coherent that doesn’t involve copious amounts of the “F Bomb” and its numerous variations.

Why?  Because we’re going to hell in a hemp shoulder tote with an Obama logo on it, and the vast majority of this nation is fat, complacent, and downright apathetic.  As long as they have their six-pack of Bud in the fridge and their Cheez Doodles in the pantry, they couldn’t care less what’s going on in Washington.  They couldn’t care less that their elected representatives are, for the most part, a bunch of incompetent, power-hungry boobs (and I don’t mean the good kind of boobs that men like on women).  They just salivate at the vapid platitudes spewed at them from both sides of the aisle, and go to bed knowing nothing and understanding nothing.

How many of them believe Harry Reid when he vomits forth the following lie?

In the wake of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Congress is preparing to increase its barrel tax on oil by 400% to 32 cents a barrel to create a fund to finance cleanup from oil spills.  The tax would apply to both foreign and domestically produced oil. Revenue would be managed by the Coast Guard to be used if crises like the catastrophic spill off the Louisiana coast were to reoccur.

Regarding costs for cleaning up the April 20 spill in the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and congressional leaders have said they expect BP to foot the bill.

“Taxpayers will not pick up the tab,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev), said Monday.

ORLY?

How many of you believe that a tax hike that increases the barrel tax fourfold will not be passed to the consumer?

How many of you think that you won’t wind up paying more at the pump?

What kind of ignorant stupidity allows one to believe that oil companies will be nice enough to take a hit on their profits without passing the costs on to the consumers?  Apparently they’re only evil, profit-grubbing nutsacks when they’re making profits via free enterprise and taking advantage of the free market.  But they will be shitting sweet sunshine and rainbows, and will not make an effort to increase their bottom line if more taxes are imposed on them?

Right.

The only way the politicians can ensure that prices won’t rise in response to their latest money-grubbing scheme is to pass a law prohibiting oil companies from increasing prices.

And how many of you doubt for a moment that your elected bloodsucking leeches wouldn’t pass just such a measure, under the guise of preventing price gouging, of course!

How many of you think about the unintended consequences of these types of measures before getting your next beer from the fridge and go back to watching the latest sports event on ESPN?

Because guess what, folks!  What Reid is promising is absolute garbage, and will wind up being nothing more than a tax hike on the middle class – yeah, those of us who commute to work every day and earn a decent living only to see our earnings decimated by the politicians in power!

Thanks a pantsload, American voters!  How’s that Hope and Change™ working out for ya?
