You really are embarrassing bigots, who have no concept of courage, no idea what it’s like to love and serve your nation and no respect for the very guy who puts his life in danger every day to protect your right to be assholes.
Yeah, I’m talking to you, ignorant fuckbats, who had the unmitigated gall to show disrespect to a deployed troop who is out in the sandbox risking his life every day, while the very people whose rights he defends on a regular basis castigate, persecute and condemn him, while licking the puckered asshole of Rick Santorum, who would relegate their very existence to a closet via government force, while singing praises to some twisted deity and yammering on about independence and liberty.
These people are heroes. They volunteered to serve this nation – to protect every American’s rights and freedoms – and because of who they are, they should not only be forced to remain alone for the duration of their service, but are vilified and condemned by pathetic ignorami who aren’t even good enough to lick their boots?
Not just no, but FUCK NO!
You should be thanking Stephen Hill for his service, not cheering the fact that until Tuesday, he had to have his face obscured while recording this question for fear of losing the job he loves.
And to all of you candidates, who didn’t even express a shred of disgust at the ignorant reaction of the audience – SHAME ON YOU!! And shame on you, Santorum for not even having the decency to thank him for his service to the country YOU want to lead, you pig.
Oh, and by the way, Santorum’s “Any type of sexual activity has no place in the military” comment qualifies as possibly the dumbest reply of the night. No, sex has no place on deployment or in a warzone – heterosexual or otherwise, and there are orders that prohibit that (rather ineffectually, judging from the number of hookups I saw on my last deployment). But that is not and never has been the point, and I suspect Santorum knows it.
But I digress…
The disrespect shown last night to this courageous man made me embarrassed to be a citizen of the same nation as these people!
He deserves respect, because he is doing a job very few have the courage and commitment to do.
He deserves respect, because he and his fellow Soldiers are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation they love.
He deserves respect, because despite the jeers and the persecution that was directed at him by a few sniveling shitbags, he had the courage to show his face and admit who he is.
He deserves respect, because he’s wearing the uniform of a United States Soldier.
He deserves respect, because he served in silence, denying who he is, because his beloved military forbid his open existence.
He deserves respect, because it shouldn’t matter whom he loves and with whom he chooses to spend his life, but it did, and until a few days ago, he sacrificed who he was to the needs of his nation.
THAT is a sacrifice, and most of you wouldn’t know it if it jumped up and bit you on the left ass cheek.
Show some damn respect, assholes!
UPDATE: Apparently, NOW (after numerous news outlets, blogs and various other media called him on it), Santorum “condemns” the booing and claims he didn’t hear it.
“I condemn the people who booed that gay soldier,” Santorum said on Fox News Friday. “Certainly had I heard them, I would have said, ‘Don’t do that. This man is serving our country and we are to thank him for his service’.”
Really, asshole? You didn’t hear it? It was plain as day to the rest of the world – I lost a good amount of hearing in the military defending your right to be an odious bit of rancid dung, and I still heard it! But even if you’re as deaf as a post…
Why didn’t YOU thank him?
