So yesterday was Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day, and thousands upon thousands of people turned out to give the restaurant a monetary boost after some groups and some scumbag politicians decided to abuse their power and relieve the business of its earnings merely for holding views with which they disagreed.

You all already know my views on the subject, so I won’t belabor them.

What I do want to address is this festering yambag by the name of Adam Smith (not the economist, the rancid bag of vinegar and water). Smith decided to be a smartass and go through the drive-through at his local Chick-Fil-A, but order nothing but water. He figured it’s free, and he would relieve the company of some of its profits. Why he thought this would somehow cut into the company’s bottom line, I’m not sure. It’s not like he ordered a sandwich and ran out without paying. That would be theft. Instead he merely ordered a cup of water, and the very nice girl at the drive-through tried to hand it to him with no drama.

But oh, no! That was not to be!

Instead of just taking his fucking water like a decent human being, Adam Smith decided to berate the girl, yammer at her incessantly about how shitty her employer was, and act like a general turdball toward her, even though all she wanted to do was politely hand him his water.

You work for a horrible company!

Chick-Fil-A is a hateful corporation!

I don’t know how you can live with yourself and work here.

This sweet girl tells him that she’s always happy to serve him. She tells him that her personal views don’t belong in the workplace and that she feels uncomfortable with him recording her.

Not that he gives a flying rat’s fuck. He continues to blather on about how he’s a nice guy, and that she should stop the hate.

Yeah, he tells a young kid who wants nothing more than to earn a paycheck, who is nothing but polite to him, who treats him with respect, even though he’s a bullying assnugget, that he doesn’t understand how she can work there. And then he drives off all satisfied with himself, arrogantly proclaiming how he just did a good thing.

Way to go, you fetid fucknozzle. You just harassed and bullied a nice girl for making a living, drove away with a free water and decided to be all satisfied with yourself because you made her work for your cold beverage, while you berated and antagonized her.

Nice job, asshole! What will you do for an encore, kick a baby seal?

Well, apparently, Smith’s employer didn’t like what transpired between Smith and this young lady, so they fired his ignorant ass. (h/t: The Rott)

Now, before you start hammering me with the whole free speech thing, remember this. The First Amendment prevents GOVERNMENT from persecuting you for speaking your mind. It is a limit on GOVERNMENT, not on individuals! The First Amendment doesn’t protect you from criticism, nor does it protect you from the consequences of your own stupid actions.

Randazza said it best here:

The First Amendment protects you from government action suppressing your right to free speech. It does not protect you from private individuals’ negative reaction to your speech. As an extreme example: In my younger and more impulsive days, I punched out a guy who offended my then-girlfriend (now wife). He said he was exercising his First Amendment rights. I agreed and told him that I would defend him if the government messed with him, but the First Amendment didn’t protect him from a private punch. I broke a few laws that day, but I didn’t violate the First Amendment.

Adam Smith’s actions reflected badly on him and his employer, and his employer had every right to give him the boot – NOT because of his views, but because he badgered and hassled a young girl trying to do her job for no reason – because he disliked the views of her employer.  The shitbag in question was CFO/Treasurer at Vante. The company, upon seeing his smug, foul mug on his YouTube channel and noticing that he had the name of his employer listed, decided that Mr. Smith did not reflect the values of the company and that they no longer needed his services.

We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.

Karma is an evil bitch, ain’t she, Adam?

Way to go, Vante!

You’re nothing more than a skidmark on the underwear of life, Adam.  You’re lucky the young lady was polite to you. I hope she gets a raise.

I would have cockpunched you. With a crowbar.
