Looks Like Negative Publicity Works

This is an update on yesterday’s story about Cole Withrow, who was expelled and charged with a felony for inadvertently leaving his shotgun in his truck when he went to school on Monday morning.

WRAL reports that Cole will graduate with his class, and will return to school to finish his education.

Kim Boykin, a family friend speaking on behalf of Withrow’s family, said he tried to get permission from school administrators to take home the weapon but instead, was arrested and expelled.

But Jimmy Lawrence, an attorney for the Johnston County Schools Board of Education, said in a statement Thursday afternoon that Withrow has not been expelled and that the school system superintendent “has made provisions” that will allow him to continue his education and to receive his high school diploma if he meets graduation requirements.

A spokeswoman for Johnston County Schools said she could not speak specifically about disciplinary measures against Withrow but said that, generally, students bringing weapons to school are suspended for 10 days with a recommendation to be suspended for a full calendar year – the mandate according to state law.

“The Legislature has mandated what actions law enforcement, school principals and school superintendents must do upon finding a violation of this law,” Lawrence said. “It was enacted for the purpose of ‘deterring students and others from bringing any type of guns onto school grounds because of the increased necessity for safety in our schools.’ This has never been more true, based on recent events that have occurred at schools in the United States in the last few years.”

Yeah, I’m sure it’s the Legislature’s fault that there’s no common sense involved in this situation. It’s the legislature’s fault that an administrator, whose error was far more egregious and potentially damaging, was not punished, while this honor student’s future was threatened.

And, of course… NEWTOWN!!! SANDY HOOK!!!  YOU MUST WANT TO KILL CHILDREN IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THE ADMINISTRATORS’ ACTIONS IN THIS CASE, SO SHUT UP!

Zero Tolerance Ruins the Life of a Good Kid… Again (UPDATED)

How many of these inane Zero Tolerance Sense stories have we heard about? Kids being suspended for bringing a butter knife to school to eat their lunch, punished for mocking a gun with their fingers, disciplined for wielding chicken tenders in a menacing manner, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam.

Well, John Pierce tells us about yet another example of a good kid – an honors student – a boy scout – whose life is being ruined by his school system’s ignorant, hypocritical, imbecilic, zero tolerance sense policy.

I would like for you to meet Cole Withrow. In addition to being an Eagle Scout, Cole is an honors student and high school senior in Johnson County North Carolina … at least he was until recently.

Now, he is charged with a felony, expelled from school weeks before graduation, and sees his college plans crumbling since he will not be allowed to graduate.

What heinous act could possibly see a child being expelled and charged with a felony? Did he accidentally eat his corn muffin into the shape of a firearm?

No. This kid went skeet shooting over the weekend, unintentionally left his shotgun in his car, realized what he did while on school property, secured his firearm and called his mom to come pick it up. He threatened no one, and he told no one about it. Simply called his mom and discretely asked her to come remove the object.

Unfortunately, in this post-Newtown era, any act of possessing an evil firearm will be punished most rigorously – no threat or actual display of a firearm required. Apparently someone overheard Cole on the phone with his mom and reported him.

And now, this kid’s future is threatened by a bunch of overzealous, panty-soiling, ignorant publik skool administrators.

But wait… they’re not just pusillanimous and capricious. They’re also hypocritical. Much like the DC police who punished a veteran for inadvertently leaving some ammunition rounds in his bag, while tongue-bathing media maggot David Gregory’s anus after he knowingly displayed an outlawed high-capacity magazine on his show in DC, the duplicitous, traitorous school administrators are protecting one of their own from repercussions of an even more “egregious” act.

To illustrate the hypocrisy even further, it has been noted that two years ago, Cole’s assistant Principal Catherine Bennett brought a gun in her car onto school campus. To make matters worse, her car was being worked on by the auto mechanics class and the gun was found by students who handed it around before hiding it under the fender of the car.

So Cole will be joining Bennett in prison? Nope. Bennett did not face criminal charges because she said that she did not know the gun was in the car.

School officials claim that this is because the law is different for students and for teachers – kind of like the law is different for media maggots and for regular folks in DC, I guess. That’s a pretty specious argument. Since when are laws different when it comes to exercise of basic rights for different classes of citizens? Isn’t there, like, a constitutional thingy… some kind of equal protection under the law thingy?

Look, folks. I fully understand the need to keep schools safe. I fully understand the need to report suspicious activity within reason.

But this snitchery smacks of the USSR in all its former glory!

If you want to help Cole, I would suggest polite, strongly-worded letters to the contacts below, as well as petitions and shares of this post.

  1. Contact the Johnson County School Board and let them know what you think of their actions.
  2. Contact the Johnston County DA Susan Doyle via email Susan.I.Doyle@nccourts.org or telephone (919) 209-5521 and ask her to immediately drop the charges against Cole.
  3. Sign this petition that is going to the School Board.
  4. Sign this petition to the Governor.
  5. Keep up with the #FreeCole campaign at their Facebook page.

And thank you to John Pierce for bringing this to my attention!

UPDATE: WDBJ reports that Liberty University has offered Cole a full scholarship. At least his life won’t be destroyed by the actions of the shitguzzling cowards that are his school administrators! Kudos to Liberty U!

Liberty University Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. heard about Withrow’s situation while watching the evening news. Withrow was wearing a Liberty University shirt during the story, so Falwell decided to look into the situation more, according to the news release. Falwell then learned that Withrow’s sister is a Liberty University graduate.

“When I reached out to encourage this responsible and impressive young man, I learned that he wanted to go to Liberty University, but couldn’t afford it. I told him that we would do whatever he needed so that he can attend Liberty,” Falwell wrote in the news release. “Anti-gun zealots tried to vilify him for doing the right thing, so Liberty has decided to award him the help he needs to attend a private Christian college. I was really impressed with Cole. He is a humble and meek Christian kid who only wants to do the right thing! We want students like Cole Withrow.” graduate.

This Is Teachin’ Our Childrun

If Detroit’s Schall Elementary School principal Susan Wright lived in California, she would almost definitely vote for Dianne Feinswein. That is how deep her ignorance about firearms is, and how complete her disdain for the members of the military who protect her very right to be an ignorant snatch.  This might sound incredible, but this school administrator – who ostensibly has some kind of background in education and has likely taught at some point in her pathetic life – has soiled her panties at the sight of toy soldiers.

Not. Even. Kidding.

The boy was chided, and so were his parents, for cupcakes featuring little green Army men on the top.

Schall Elementary School principal Susan Wright called the parents at home and said the cupcakes were insensitive in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting. School staff pulled off the Army men before they were served.

Child considers military men heroes.

Child has cupcakes for his birthday.

Child’s parents put little green Army men as cupcake toppings, because child loves Soldiers.

Stupid slit removes the little guys, and snottily chides the family for DARING to be insensitive to those who might perhaps be worthless pant-shitters who might be traumatized by the sight of armed Soldiers protecting their rights and their nation.

First, Feinswein insults every veteran by implying that PTSD has made us mentally unstable – too mentally unstable to be allowed to possess the scary black “assault” weapons she wants to ban, even though we, veterans, are trained with them, and are undeniably qualified to use them. (Not to mention the fact that the clueless old bat thinks PTSD didn’t exist prior to the Iraq war.)

Now school principal freaks out at the sight of little toys – representations of the very military that takes an oath to protect her right to be ignorant!

This, and the teacher who freaked out at the sight of a Pop Tart that sort of resembled a firearm… This is teaching your kids.

It’s teaching your kids to be afraid.

It’s teaching your kids not to respect the military, but to fear them.

It’s teaching your kids to shun firearms as evil, thereby shunning personal accountability and courage.

It’s fostering government dependency.

It’s destroying individualism.

I don’t know why I’m even surprised.

Nevada School District Triples Down on the Kind of Stupid You Want to Kill With Fire

Imagine this:

You have a son. Your son is an honor student and a senior in high school. Your son is involved with Scouting, Civil Air Patrol and your state’s National Guard.

Would you be proud of your boy?

I certainly would be!

Next:

Your son posts photos of himself on his Facebook page wearing military clothes, and other pictures depicting himself involved in air show activities, Civil Air Patrol, etc.

Would you find these photos questionable? Weird? Disturbing? Upsetting?

I certainly wouldn’t.

But apparently, panty-shitting Clark County School District, NV school administrators and even some sniveling students found this young man’s photos disturbing enough to not only report their “concerns” to his parents, but also to the police.

Was he aware, the father was asked, of the content on the student’s Facebook page? Certain other students had become frightened, said the dean, upon seeing pictures of the young soldier wearing military clothes, plus another picture of the youth, as a 14-year-old, three years earlier, holding a dummy rocket launcher at a public “Aviation Nation” event held at Nellis Air Force Base.

Yes, replied the father, he was entirely aware of the Facebook pictures and saw them as in no way inappropriate for a young soldier. The Facebook pictures, the father explained to Galindo, are related to his son’s National Guard activities, air-show enthusiasm and other civil service endeavors — including Scouts and the Civil Air Patrol.

“Our son is an active member of the Army National Guard,” explains the father. “He takes pictures of himself in foxholes, with tanks, wearing military gear and things of that nature.”

In what world do these ignorami live?

What kind of doofi would soil their depends over a student who has committed himself to service to his country?

Not just the school administrators… not just some whining, cowardly, perpetually offended students… but the police, who apparently drooled in dismay at the thought of a young man making a commitment to support and defend the very rights upon which they were taking a rather large, steamy dump.

NWCTA’s principal, Kimberly Bauman, unexpectedly interrupted the student’s third period class and pulled him out, taking the student’s backpack as they exited the classroom. Two school police officers were waiting in the hallway.

Assuming this was about his Facebook page, the young man took out his military ID to show the officers and Bauman that he really was in the Army National Guard.

CCSD police officers immediately confiscated the ID card.

As the foursome continued across campus, the student asked to call his parents and talk to a lawyer. “I also asked if they had a warrant, since they took my backpack,” he told Nevada Journal.

“We will talk about this when we get where we are going,” one of the officers replied, says the student.

However, as he tells it, they never did.

Instead, once behind closed doors in Bauman’s office, says the student, Bauman emptied his backpack onto the floor — without a warrant or consent — and, as CCSD police looked on, rifled through his binders and other personal effects.

This is not the first time – more like the 5,731, 945, 051st – that a student’s rights were violated for no reason, and a young person was bullied, frightened, punished, suspended and even prevented from graduating, because some quivering school administrator soiled him or herself at the thought of a young person responsibly using a firearm, posting a photo on their laptop, bringing a photo of their sibling in uniform or wearing a shirt with a photo of the Marine Corps mascot, using the name “Hunter,” because it somehow implies firearm use, or even using fingers to mimic a firing gun. But this particular youngster was detained for several hours. Why?

Because of someone he may have perhaps known.

Steven Fernandes, according to an October Las Vegas Review-Journal report, had been the subject of court papers filed by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nicholas Dickinson and Patrick Walsh. The court documents said the FBI had an email from Fernandes, a recent Northwest Career-Tech graduate, in which he described himself as the commanding officer of the “327th Nevada Militia,” an urban survivalist unit with six or seven members. Also, according to federal authorities, Fernandes had stockpiled guns and explosives and spoken about staging mass casualty attacks.

According to the police report filled out by Hall following the arrest of one Jake Benton Howell, when CCSD officers asked Principal Bauman the morning of Dec. 21 for a list of known Fernandes associates at the school, she had included on her list the name of the senior honors student.

But the National Guard student says he only knew of Steven Fernandes because they were in the same program area the prior year, but had never spoken with him.

The whole incident was dubious and questionable in nature, and the student’s parents weren’t contacted for three hours after their son was detained.

I know I should stop being surprised at the continued bovine excrement that mimics our public education, but as things get more absurd, my amazement grows.

As our children grow up to be coddled, swaddled, insulated and entitled…

…they become adults – school administrators – who are cowardly, feeble and completely incapable of making a routine, rational decision without consulting a rulebook or calling the “authorities” to take the responsibility of making decisions out of their soft, flaccid little paws.

As parents squeal like spoiled swine every time their precious punkin gets disciplined, or gets his widdle feewings hurted with criticism of his efforts marked in red pen on his barely literate essay, or loses a game and doesn’t get a participation trophy…

…their crotchfruit grow up to be entitled, arrogant, sniveling, cowardly and unable to cope.

This is what we are raising, people!

Isn’t it time we did something about it?

Oh NOEZ! A Gun!

I bring you Zero Tolerance Sense stupidity, pt. 566,274,658,254…

High school student issued laptop.

Puts a picture – a PICTURE – of an AK on top of a flag as his wallpaper.

Teacher sees said wallpaper, shits pants, turns in student.

Since the laptop belongs to the school, the district policy states students are prohibited from “sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures,” and cannot access, send, create or forward pictures that are considered “harassing, threatening, or illegal.”

So apparently a photo – this photo – is somehow dangerous, threatening, harassing and illegal… as well as offensive.

Student-Suspended-over-Having-Picture-of-Gun-as-a-Laptop-Wallpaper

The photo shows no violence. No threat. Nothing. It shows the firearm on top of a flag.

And apparently, this student, who wants to join the military when he gets out of publik skool, was initially suspended for three days thanks to the panty-soiling teacher who turned him in.

Luckily, the kid’s father wouldn’t stand for this moronic behavior, and his son has now returned to school.

But the point remains. Schools are graduating barely literate kids who don’t even have basic math and science skills.

Apparently many schools now prohibit the use of red pens when teachers are marking papers, because it will make precious snowflakes feel bad about themselves if they see too much red on the paper.

And instead of focusing on the basics, this idiot who shouldn’t be allowed even approach children with an open mouth, and whose maw should be duct taped shut before it says anything mind-bogglingly stupid, has turned in what appears to be a good kid for having a picture of a gun on his laptop.

Brave, new schools.

I may not be smart enough to homeschool my kidlets, but I am smart enough to keep track of what they are learning, and explain things to them if I feel their classes are leading them astray.

How many parents out there are willing to even do that much?
