Well, now we know what’s in it

And it sucks.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi Skeletor told us how cool the ObamaCare legislation was, and that we’d all be awesomely surprised after it was passed, because in order to find out what’s in this comprehensive health care reform, we’d have to pass it first? Or something?

Well, now the idiots who voted for it, and found out what’s in it, realized that what they voted for is shit, and they now want the shit delayed.

Sixteen Democratic senators who voted for the Affordable Care Act are asking that one of its fundraising mechanisms, a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices scheduled to take effect January 1, be delayed.  Echoing arguments made by Republicans against Obamacare, the Democratic senators say the levy will cost jobs — in a statement Monday, Sen. Al Franken called it a “job-killing tax” — and also impair American competitiveness in the medical device field.

The senators, who made the request in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, are Franken, Richard Durbin, Charles Schumer, Patty Murray, John Kerry, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Joseph Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Robert Casey, Debbie Stabenow, Barbara Mikulski, Kay Hagan, Herb Kohl, Jeanne Shaheen, and Richard Blumenthal.  All voted for Obamacare.

Two other Democrats, senators-elect Joe Donnelly and Elizabeth Warren, also signed the letter.  Donnelly voted for Obamacare as a member of the House.  Warren was not in Congress at the time.

Ooops!

See, this is how it works.

Massive, expensive, socialist legislation passes.

No one knows what’s really in it, because the Congresshits are too stupid or lazy (or both)  to actually read it. They only know that their constituents want free shit, and they’re there to give it to them.

But the Congresshits don’t really consider who will fund said massive, expensive, socialist legislation, so when they realize that said legislation includes a tax on something as critical as… say… medical devices, that will likely drive up the cost of buying a wheelchair or developing a new, life-saving technology, and will probably affect tons of… you know… jobs…

…they all of a sudden get nervous! After all, they voted for this tax, but they didn’t know it was in there, because they hadn’t voted for it yet… um… yeah.

Jagoffs.

This is how we get screwed

Defense appropriation bill is critical. Defense is one of the few truly constitutional functions of government. The Congressleeches know this, so they stick extra taxes into the bill. Because they will steal our money one way or another.

This may be the last Christmas of online shopping without paying sales tax.

A proposed online sales tax has been offered as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, much to the ire of opponents.

The Computer and Communications Industry Association, a group that opposes this move, says that an online sales tax will burden small businesses, “some of the most promising candidates for future economic growth.”

Yep. Keep electing these thieving major party candidates, America. Keep letting them steal your earnings and dipping their dirty paws into every transaction you freely conduct.

They’ll keep spending and you’ll keep paying for it. And the more they spend, the more the beneficiaries of this largesse will vote. At your expense.

I’d ask you if you’re sorry yet, but most of you are too clueless to even realize what you’ve gotten yourselves into.

Adieu!

So France has unveiled its new taxation scheme, which will include a 75 percent tax on those earning over one million euros a year.

With Hollande facing record unemployment and economic stagnation, there were also fears the deficit target will slip as France falls short of the modest 0.8 percent economic growth rate on which it is banking for next year.

“This is a fighting budget to get the country back on the rails,” Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said, adding that the 0.8 percent growth target was “realistic and ambitious”.

Hmmmm. Let me see.

Any company or individual who earns more than a million euros will have earnings confiscated. It’s UNAVOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABLEEEEEE!

Ministers defended measures that included a 75 percent top tax rate as unavoidable if France is to get its finances under control and meet European Union deficit targets deemed essential to avoid the collapse of the euro single currency.

How long before the nation’s most productive individuals bid France “Adieu!” and find a country that will not enslave them in order to fix years of overspending?

Think corporations that create jobs will stick around just to see their profits appropriated?

Think individuals such as Bernard Arnault, who have the business acumen ingenuity to build companies and create jobs will stick around to be exploited by the socialists? Think they’ll take the jobs their companies create with them?

Think Liliane Bettencourt will stick around to see the fruits of her labor appropriated? And if she doesn’t, will she take her philanthropic organizations with her?

And what will happen when millions or even billions leave the French economy?

Who will be next on the socialists’ “to eat” list? Those who earn $750,000 euros per year? I mean, look how much they still have to loot?

And once they’re done with those “rich,” who’s next on the consumption chain?

If it were me earning more than a million euros in France, I’d get the fuck out of there before the socialists realize that unless they make it impossible to leave, there won’t be anyone left to loot!

Because then, they’ll really be stuck!

No, it doesn’t make it any better

I’ve seen several attempts to make excuses for Chief Justice John Roberts‘ defection to the left on the SCOTUS ObamaCare decision.  I liken this to trying to extract bits of corn out of a bowlful of diarrhea.

Law upheld, Supreme Court’s reputation for neutrality maintained. Commerce clause contained, constitutional principle of enumerated powers reaffirmed.

Charles Krauthammer

There is a very real chance for the Constitution to be the reason for 0bamacare to be repealed.

According to Art. 1, Sec. 7, “All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with amendments as on other Bills.”

The House version of the Affordable Care Act bill failed in the Senate. Then the Senate proposed a separate bill that the House deemed passed. This was then signed into law as the current Affordable Care Act.

This was possible because there was no tax increase in the bill, just a fine.

However, Chief Justice Robert’s opinion has invalidated the claim that the individual mandate is a fine, but asserted it is actually a tax.

As such, the Senate bill violates Art. 1, Sec. 7 because a tax originated in the Senate in direct violation of the Constitution.

Here’s what really occurred — payback. Yes, payback for Obama’s numerous, ill-advised and childish insults directed toward SCOTUS.

Chief Justice Roberts actually ruled the mandate, relative to the commerce clause, was unconstitutional. That’s how the Democrats got Obama-care going in the first place. This is critical. His ruling means Congress can’t compel American citizens to purchase anything. Ever. The notion is now officially and forever, unconstitutional. As it should be.

Oh, and this is my favorite one: Roberts wasn’t in his right mind.

“Let’s talk about Roberts. I’m going to tell you something that you’re not going to hear anywhere else, that you must pay attention to. It’s well known that Roberts, unfortunately for him, has suffered from epileptic seizures. Therefore he has been on medication. Therefore neurologists will tell you that medication used for seizure disorders, such as epilepsy, can introduce mental slowing, forgetfulness and other cognitive problems. And if you look at Roberts’ writings you can see the cognitive dissociation in what he is saying,” Michael Savage said on his radio program this evening.

No. OK?  Just no.

Despite some limiting language on the Commerce Clause, which has been used to extend congressional tentacles on every aspect of our lives, the fact remains that SCOTUS affirmed the Congressleeches’ right to penalize us via taxation every time we don’t make purchases they want us to make, or alternately make purchases they don’t want us to make!

Don’t like celery? Too bad. You’ll purchase at least 3 lbs. of it per month, or you’ll have a little problem with the IRS that will cost you $35.

Eat too much pizza? Welcome to the pizza tax. Every time you inhale that pepperoni and bacon pie, you will pay a “small” levy for the government to take care of those who can’t control their eating habits and get sick from being morbidly obese. After all, we must all take care of one another!

Smoke? Yeah, your taxes will go up exponentially.

Booze? Congress will impose a small tax on you for alcohol treatment for those who can’t afford it.

And by the way, you will be REQUIRED to visit an HHS approved doctor at least twice a year. For your own good, of course, because preventive care is important to keeping costs down. If you don’t, well… you’ll pay another tax.

Gum is good for you. It keeps your teeth clean and breaks up plaque. You must purchase it. So sayeth Congress and the insurance companies.

Get it?

Petty Socialist Tyranny

One of my personal pet peeves is when politicians use government to try and dictate certain behavior or choices to the citizenry. For the most part, this is the province of the left. When it comes from the GOP, it takes the form of legislating morality to please the “frothing fundamentalist fruitcakes”, as Nicki calls them, or something to help the corporatist elitist types. As many of you may know, the socialist chumps known as the DC city government enacted a “fee” for the privilege of using a disposable plastic bag at a restaurant, grocery store or convenience store, in the amount of 5¢ per offending bag. Neighboring Montgomery County in the People’s Republic of Maryland decided this was a GREAT IDEA, and followed suit. I work in DC, so I avoid that tax at every turn. I’ll carry my Subway or Quizno’s sub back to the office in the paper wrapper, or just go elsewhere rather than pay it. Such a thing could never occur here in the Old Dominion, right? Even the most blue-bellied liberal nanny-stater legislator would know better than this, right?

Scott Surovell and "Toddy" Puller

A match made in Hell... Two worthless nanny-staters holding hands.

Wrong. I give you Scott Surovell (Douchebag-Mount Vernon), a trial lawyer, delegate, and ally/friend of the crone known as “Toddy” Puller, who until I recently moved, represented me in the Senate of Virginia. He’s based in the socialist enclave of Mount Vernon in northern Fairfax County, so he has no fear of defeat in a general election. This entity has gifted of us with HB 124, his latest and most egregious attempt (co-created with Joe Morrissey (Douchebag-Highland Springs) ) to shove this petty tyranny down our throats. Seriously? The best part? THE TAX IS 20¢. That’s right, citizens, 400% of the tax levied on the unfortunate victims of the DC and Monkey County governments. Surovell admits that he perhaps won’t get the full effect he’s looking, that it’ll be cut to 5¢ in committee. How magnanimous of you, you worthless, nosy, high-handed piece of socialist rubbish! I take it as a deadly personal insult that the likes of you befoul the state legislature of the Old Dominion! You are a DISGRACE!!! Someone with even a passing understanding of the proper province of government would understand that the tax code is to be used sparingly, and even then ONLY FOR REVENUE GENERATION, NOT LIMP-WRISTED LEFT-WING SOCIAL ENGINEERING!!! I realize the GOP won’t let this become law this session either, but every Republican is on notice: I and many other liberty-loving activists are watching. If ANY Republican delegate or senator votes for this garbage in committee or on the floor, we will work for your immediate defeat in 2013. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Surovell and his ilk are the enemy, in the purest, most visceral sense. They represent petty, pusillanimous grassroots tyranny, in the name of some “cause”, in this case defending the Chesapeake Bay. Hogwash. This clown and everyone like him deserve to have their feeding time at public troughs severely curtailed. And did I mention he’s a trial lawyer to boot? Here’s his blog. Commence fire.
