So It Starts… Injured Army Vet is First Victim of New York’s Abominable Gun Law

An Army veteran was arrested in Watertown for possession of AR-15 magazines.

Nathan H. Haddad, 32, of 25240 Waddingham Road, town of LeRay, faces five felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was released without bail before town of Watertown Justice Andrew N. Capone, and is ordered to appear Wednesday in town of LeRay Court.

Deputies made the arrest shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Steinhilber Road in the town of LeRay, where Mr. Haddad is accused of possessing five 30-round AR-15 magazines of ammunition. He is cited under a state penal law statute that prohibits possession of “a large capacity ammunition feeding device.”

An injured Army vet, who until now has never been arrested. Involved with his church. Volunteers with the Boy Scouts. All this according to someone who knows him.

And yet, unlike media maggot David Gregory, this military veteran will be treated like nothing but a common criminal for mere possession of some magazines.

Is this the type of person you want to make in to a criminal, Gov. Cuomo?

Is this whom you were hoping to snag in your little unconstitutional dragnet?

Is this the man from whom you want to make an example? Is he whom you want to vilify? Does he pose a danger to the public?

The obvious answer here is “NO!” But that doesn’t seem to matter to the tyrannical politicians in New York, who only care about pretending to do “something” about the problem in order to get themselves re-elected.

Scum, meet Fred

Fred will ventilate your stupid ass, because he will not be a victim.

During an early morning break-in at his Western Pennsylvania home on Tuesday, an 84-year-old Korean War veteran blasted a burglar in the neck with a German Luger he had carried in battle, police said.

In a scene that appeared to be pulled from the pages of the Clint Eastwood film “Gran Torino,” grizzled war hero Fred Ricciutti grabbed his battlefield sidearm after he heard someone bust through a kitchen door of his Elizabeth Township house at around 4:30 a.m.

[...]

Ricciutti fired once, hitting suspect Raymond Hiles, 25, in the neck.

Hills took off, but was arrested a few blocks away after Ricciutti called 911.

These are the people Keith Ellison and Raul Grijalva want to disarm.

Luckily the two nutless wonders have backed down.  For now.

Expect them to try and pass this travesty – a travesty that would attempt to make it a crime for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves without groveling at the feet of their attackers first – again.  Soon.

Keep pushing!

Last week, I wrote a blog post about Bob Strait, who lost his sweetheart of 65 years to a violent attack, in which Nancy Strait was raped and brutalized, and ultimately died of her injuries.

There was no media attention.

There was no outrage.

There were no celebrities pleading for justice for the 90-year-old veteran and his family.

One man wanted to change that, and I think it’s working.

Nick Palmisciano, CEO of Ranger Up, posted a YouTube video to which I linked last week, imploring the media to listen, and urging Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to help draw attention to the attack.

I did all I could by posting the story, and spreading the link to my blog far and wide.

This morning, I woke up to hundreds of blog hits, coming from searches for the name “Bob Strait.”

People want to know.

They care.

They are searching for the story and the name, and the media is finally paying attention.

While police and homicide detectives are working the case, Mr. Strait and his family are focusing on his health.

I can understand that.

The man lost a woman he loved for a lifetime, and now his kidneys are failing, according to the story to which I linked above.

I wish there was something I could do for Mr. Strait and his family. I don’t have a lot of money, and I certainly don’t have race-hustling charlatans to dispatch into the public to demand justice for Nancy.

I don’t have the power of the media or a huge audience like Colbert and Stewart.

The only thing I can do is encourage readers of this blog to not let Nancy Strait be forgotten.

So keep pushing, folks.

Just keep pushing.
